One of my favorite sunsets from my winter in Italy to let you know that I have published a new post on the blog about how the garden and the healing power of nature helped me survive a challenging winter.
You can read it (and view the many photos) on the blog, and you can find the link to the home page in the profile. Or you can comment WINTER in this post and I will message you the link directly.
I hope you will enjoy it and find it helpful and inspiring. That is why I share such personal stories, in the hope they will help or inspire even just one person.
Wishing you a wonderful new week!
Love, Monica

As I was thinking of the new April calendar wallpaper, I had no hesitations: I wanted it light filled and I wanted it with cookies!
I thought my Lemon Cream Crinkle Cookies would be perfect for the Easter weekend - and any time, really - so I thought I would share them both in the wallpaper and in a new post with the recipe. I hope you will love them as much as I do.
The recipe will be ready in a few more days, and you will be able to find it in the “latest posts” section. If you are already subscribed to my newsletter, you will receive an e-mail notification. If you are not subscribed and would like to be notified, you can do so at the link in profile, where you will also find the download link for the wallpaper. 🌸

Apologies for the delay in sharing: there was a glitch in the Wordpress “back office” of my website, so I had to get creative in resolving things.
I ended up designing a whole new page just to share the wallpapers from, and I must say I am really pleased with it.
So here you go, some refreshing and uplifting white blossoms for the March calendar wallpaper after the fog and quiet tones of the winter ones. I hope you will enjoy them as much as I did creating the wallpaper, which you an download at the link in profile, or: https://tinyurl.com/4puazy7h
I am still in Italy taking care of my mum. She is doing so much better, and for that I am profoundly grateful. I has been tough on me, though I am glad I have been able to give my brother a bit of a break. I have two brothers, but only one lives in the same area as my mum.
I now plan to return to California as per schedule in about ten days, as I need pick up where I left off and get my life on a new track. After that, the plan is to return here sometime in June for another three months or so.
I am going to miss my family, but I am looking forward to some space, and definitely to warmer temperatures!
I could ramble on and on, but this is long enough, so I will close and wish you a March that is filled with ease, joy and glory, and a smooth passage into spring.
Love and blessings,
Monica

How are you? How has your January been? Do you like fog?
Driving in it is not my favorite thing, but otherwise fog is the next best thing to snow: muffled whiteness, softer edges, mystery…. Most of all, for us photographers, it creates interesting and very photogenic landscapes.
We’ve had quite a bit of it in the past couple of weeks, and I have managed to grab a few shots.
I thought it would make a perfect wallpaper for February: a newly captured image that represents the season in this part of the world (yes, I am still in Italy). It is also a reflection of where I’m at personally in my life right now: in the fog, not seeing clearly, just taking one step at a time towards the little I can see close to me while not tripping and falling.
Two days into the new year, I received really good news from two (separate) friends, both of whom had finally achieved positive results in something they had long been working at. After the year I and many of you had had, I felt as happy and thrilled as if that had happened to me.
Their good news made me excited for them wholeheartedly, but also gave me hope that things I have long been working on might finally bring happy results for me as well.
