Meet the lovely Chako, a pretty Shih Tzu girl I met last year during a dog-photo-a-thon around O’ahu for a calendar.
Chako is not just a pretty face, she is a certified therapy dog who gives daily of her magical puppy healing powers at Trippler Army Medical Center in Honolulu. She even has her own business card.
When she is not bringing smiles and lifting the spirits of people at the hospital, Chako loves to play with her yellow ball, sniff-around like the best of them, and cuddle with her mommy.
Pink is Chako’s signature color. Doesn’t she just look pretty in it? Though she would look pretty in any color.
As of a few days ago, Chako has a new baby brother: a super cute little black Pomeranian called Kuma, the Kuro Knight of Wong. In Japanese Kuma means bear, and kuro means black. It seems Chako still needs to warm up to the little fur ball as, if I know Pom-poms, he will be a little wild thing. She is a big girl and used to being the Princess of the House of Wong. Like all big sisters, though, she is bound to love her little brother, eventually.
Chako also has her own Instagram account, and you can follow her at @chakomyshihtzu.
