In this post I am featuring a bespoke kitchen, pantry and boot room in the North Downs, UK. Located within a historic hall, each of these spaces has its own identity, personality and style, yet they work seamlessly together. Each space also features the best possible combination of quality, aesthetics and practicality. And nothing is ever over the top. Which is the way I like it.
I really wasn’t planning on sharing another creation by deVOL Kitchens, but how could I not? It’s stunning! Again!

Center stage is the majestic island by Officine Gullo. Officine Gullo are an Italian manufacturer of luxury kitchen appliances, cooking ranges and accessories based in Florence. This piece is a true chef’s delight and provides prepping, refrigeration, cooking, steaming and grilling.
The wall behind the range features fitted cupboards from deVOL’s Classic English range. It is painted in a soft cool cream color that was custom mixed to match the client’s requirements. These cupboards incorporate appliances big and small simply and efficiently. Below you can see the same image with the cupboard doors open.

Every aspect of this project was beautifully executed and installed with real artistry. Clearly the various teams worked seamlessly together, something not easy to accomplish. Just look at that incredible curved tile work around the arched doors. Now I am really curious as to how that is accomplished.
Besides that lovely pantry alcove to the right, there is what really caught my eye: the Habedasher’s Pantry in the corner to the left. The inspiration for this room was taken from a traditional butcher’s shop in a nearby village. The exterior glazed wooden walls were not made by deVOL, but they were designed to work seamlessly with their Haberdasher’s range.
You can just slide the doors closed and everything is contained, yet visible, just like having your own little shop. For a passionate baker, a space like this could also be a baking “shop”, with everything organized and set up just for that. What do you think?

The arched door leads into the boot room, or mud room in the United States. This is a space filled with a array of rich dark storage cabinetry (the paint color has also been custom-mixed) in the same Classic English style as the kitchen. Here there is room for coats, hats, dog beds, and even one of the most original uses for the deVOL pot filler faucet: a dog drinking station. If you have a good water filtration system installed at the main water entry for the house, this will be just perfect.

The next space is located within the main kitchen room, alongside a comfy seating area and tucked in a section of the room that could have easily ben ignored a not utilized for anything in particular. It is the designated bar/coffee station, is complete with water taps, drainage, coffee machines and orderly rows of shelves and hanging rails.
The counter top looks like copper, just like the one featured in the dark and moody kitchen I showed you a couple of months ago.
Once more: exquisite, high quality work, though my personal preference would be to have all those cups, glasses and other pretty accessories behind closed doors to avoid dust and visual clutter.

Are you a passionate cook or baker? Would this be your kind of kitchen? What are your favorite aspects of this kitchen, and even the boot room?
