I am calling these Ultimate Lemon Cakes for very good reason: they are the most satisfying set of cakes for lemon lovers ever!
They are tender and light, yet moist and rich in flavor, and they disappear fast.
It all started with getting the perfect lemon loaf cake: you know, the tall, most but light kind, similar to the one so many love at Starbucks, but without all the unhealthy additives that industrially made foods are inevitably filled with.

Once that was achieved, I wondered if the recipe would work for an upside-down version. It did, both as a loaf and as a round version. Then I remembered a cake I had seen with a creamy swirly core and, of course, I had to try that with my cake using lemon curd. Et voilá! Cake number 4 was created!
My favorite? All of them, really, as it depends on what I have a taste for, but with a slight preference for the classic glazed loaf.

Except for the Upside-down Lemon Loaf Cake, all cakes have the same amount of core ingredients. The main modifications are where the cakes differ: whether USD, with glaze, or with lemon curd.
