Color is the poetry of the soul.

It is the ecstasy of Spirit.

If you touch it, the vibration of the world comes into your being,

and there it begins to spread through all your neuronal pathways…

How can you resist those words? Which, by the way, are part of an intro piece Audrey Ann Lowrie contributed to one of the best and most comprehensive books on Color I have ever seen.

After much work and a few delays, I am thrilled to announce that Simply Color for Everyday Living by Diantha Harris is finally here! And I mean that literally, as I received a box of them just a few days ago.

I am thrilled not just because I contributed a story and several images for the book, including the cover, but because the final product is even more wonderful than I had imagined when Diantha asked me if I would like to contribute a piece. It is beautifully written, designed and illustrated, filled with over one-hundred illustrations, photos and charts, and covers all aspects of color and the many ways in which it supports and enhances our lives.

Diantha Harris, color expert extraordinaire with a list of certifications and accomplishments as long as both my arms, and yours as well, is one of those people who radiates light and grace with a side of whimsy and an easy sense of humor. She is also very knowledgeable, extremely talented, and highly intuitive, with an innate capacity for bringing all of this together into something quite extraordinary. Most of all, Diantha lives her life and shares her experience with great kindness and a clear heart. Her book reflects all of that.

I met Diantha in the summer of 2000, when we both attended Denise Linn’s Interior Alignment residential course in the hills of Northern California. I have been blessed and honored to have called her my Soul Sister since then, though I know we have been friends for much longer than this life.

Simply Color For Everyday Living covers a wide spectrum of topics, a few examples of which are colors and their qualities, colors and the arts, colors for the home, for healing and spirituality; colors in all aspects of nature and gardening, colors in clothes, body art, food; colors in schools, hospitals and other civic structures, even in transportation and signs. It touches on the binding power of color in sports teams, school groups and other social gatherings, as well as the importance of color choice in your business. Each topic is covered by Diantha and enriched by the experiences of, in Diantha’s words, twenty-five contributors you will definitely want to know about.

Step by step, the book teaches you how to determine what color or colors you need and how to use them to support your life. It also helps you have fun with color, and it closes with a section of color exercises and games.

“Color is very personal and a much deeper psychological subject than we think. In its simplicity, it is an  expression of who we are. In its social complexity, it is a reflection of who we want the world to think that we are in order to gain acceptance.” – excerpt from Simply Color for Everyday Living, The Fear of Color section by Dan Wittenkeller.

Diantha’s business is aptly named Life Potentials and, if you have a look around her website, you will find that she offers several tools to support you and help you reach your life’s potential. These range from a series of color sprays she has especially created, to classes, consultations and readings. Over the years I have received truly accurate, loving and very helpful readings from Diantha, which have helped bring clarity in the various challenging moments of my life. At first these were color readings through the Aura-Soma bottles, then amazingly deep Akashic Records readings, and, more recently, Shell Readings.

Does it sound like I am touting her horn? Well, maybe I am, but then she deserves all the praise I can shell out, pun intended.

And this brings me to another bit of news. Diantha and I have been working together behind the scenes, and soon you will get to know her through her own voice. I am very excited to announce that Diantha has become my first official contributor, and she will be writing monthly pieces about color for the blog. So, stay tuned, because the first one will come very soon.

Simply Color For Everyday Living is the long awaited sequel to Simply Color, Second Edition, which was Diantha’s first book and makes the perfect companion to her new one. Both books are available for purchase only through Diantha’s website, or that of one of the contributors.

And because I love this book so much, I have decided to tie it to my very first give-away. I will be announcing the simple rules of how and when through my social media, so make sure you are following Life Out of Bounds on one of the platforms. (This give-away is now closed)

This to to both you Monica and Diantha. Thank you both for creating and sharing this amazing book. I can not wait to see it. I know the beauty, creativity and depth of soul each of you give to this world through all of your amazing talents.

Than you Monica for sharing the beauty and energy of Diantha’s new book in this blog.

And since I know you both because we were all part of that amazing California course in 2000, I know the depth of soul sharing and connection we all found there and share to this day.

Thank you for both being part of my life. You make my heart sing.

Dearest Linda: thank you so much for your loving words. Everything you said reflects back to you as well. You also contributed your heart and soul to this amazing book. I feel blessed by our connection: you, Diantha, myself, and some of the others from IA14, and I know they feel the same way, even if we don’t see each other very often. My heart sings along with yours. Big love, M XOXOReplyCancel
